January 1, 2024 – Jeff Thomas, CEO of SHINE Management, was elected to serve on the Educational Foundation Board of Directors for Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) for a three-year term which commences on January 1, 2024.
PVCC is a comprehensive, public institution of higher education that awards associate degrees. PVCC’s mission is to offer accessible, affordable, high-quality educational programs that promote student success and community vitality while promoting a skilled regional workforce by meeting the training and educational needs of local and regional employers. The purpose of this Board is to serve as a connection between the College and the community it serves. It oversees the administration of the Educational Foundation student scholarships, community relations, and curriculum.
“As a longtime member of the Charlottesville business community and as a local father to a recent PVCC graduate, I personally value quality and accessible education for all. I am most honored to be elected to this PVCC Educational Foundation Board and am excited to help the residents of our community achieve their employment goals through higher education,” said Jeff Thomas.
Harry Stillerman, PVCC’s Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Development, expressed his sentiments ahead of a recent board meeting by saying “We are thrilled we are to have Jeff Thomas join the Educational Foundation Board of Directors and look forward to the opportunity to work together with him in the years ahead to support our students and college community.”
As part of his commitment to serve others in the Charlottesville region and beyond, Mr. Thomas has served on many boards, including the Board of Directors for the Virginia Council of CEOs (VACEOs), an organization for CEOs to share and learn from one another, ParadeRest Virginia, which provides support and resources to Central Virginia veterans and their families, the Board of Advisors for First Citizens Bank, and the Boards of Directors for the Virginia Institute of Autism and the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce.
